Index 01 — A landscape, not a hall

A thirty-acre opening in the land, shaped for gatherings that ask for room to breathe.

Kishkinta is not a banquet hall. It is a landscape — thirty acres south of Chennai, given to gardens, water and stone — with six venues set across it. At its centre, one open circle: an arena sixty-four metres wide that the whole estate can gather into.

Each venue carries its own weather: a long indoor hall, a forest-edge lawn, a stone court at the lake, a rooftop open to the sky, a pillared mandapam for ritual, and the open Mandala. The land was cleared in monsoon, planted in winter, and is being readied for its first season.
